All Those Who Have Loved Ones Buried in the Keokuk, Iowa
Oakland Cemetery
Beginning March 15, 2025, the City of Keokuk, Iowa will be holding a cleanup of the Oakland Cemetery located at 18th and Carroll Street.
We are asking that all those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery to remove all gravesite memorials by March 15th. Items to be removed include flowers, shepherds’ hooks, memorabilia, toys, etc.
City employees will be cleaning up debris on and around headstones and gravesites, mowing and weed-eating the cemetery. During this time period city employees will discard any memorials left on gravesites.
Any memorials that are removed by those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery may be placed back on the gravesites after May 17, 2025.
Burials during the months of February, March, April, and May will be exempted from removal of memorials.
